There is a big difference in N Anomala and Apistos Steindachneri.   I
have both and females of Nanacara have a checker board pattern to them,
Steindachneri females have that big dot in the middle of body, Nanacara
Males dont get a lyre tail, where as Steindachneri males do, coloration
in both species is way different too.   Male Nanacaras have a greenish
hue to them, with gold colored eyes, even as juveniles they are easy
enough to tell apart.
