I'd agree with these distinctions. At a young age, they seem rather diff to sex, but older males do develp longer fin extensions and of course are larger. I had a breeding "pair" for a while before I tired of them and there is some distinction observable over time as to size and fin length

The far left pic is def the male, If I remember correctly ,the middle pic is of a female

Papiliochromis altispinosa?
I'm assuming the slightly larger fish with these fin extensions and stronger colouration is the male.
