Have you checked Linke & Staeck's book? It describes conditions in its
natural habitat. C. compressiseps comes from the whitewater streams of the
lower Rio Tocantin/Araguaia. Apistos from this locality include: A. taenia,
an A. caetei form, A. cf. agassizii Tocantins, & A. sp. Tucuruí.
