Re: Apistogramma Uaupesi - dithers

It's strange really. 15-20 years ago Crenuchus spilurus was seen seasonally every
year here in Denver & prices were quite reasonable. Then with the increased
popularity of cichlids & marine organisms it seemed that the exotic species of
other families just got crowded out of the marketplace. Poeciliocharax weitzmani
was another story altogether. These were brought in at under US$1.00 each
wholesale, but because no one knew how to take care of them the suppliers had
mass die offs. After a year or 2 of this they disappeared, too. I guess that
there is just so much tank space in a retail outlet & what sells gets priority.
