Thanks for your comments. I take your advise and being a novice I will buy Apistos without Pelvicachromis. So the question is: How many of them do you think is socially adequate (you said several fish - I thought of 5 - 10 pairs for 30 gallon?)? Different Apisto species or all fish from one (if you have some experiences with certain species, let me know their names)? I'd add some dither fish into tank also to cover upper strata (any tips?) and to balance plants nitrogen demand. I've just bought some germany lava rocks (pretty expensive btw :-() and fine white sand and tomorrow I'll get some plants. Biggest tank size is height (70cm) so best option would be some floating or high plants maybe with some java moss? Do you have any comments or tips? Thank you very much! A pair of Nigeria Greens can really look nice in a big 55 with several Apistos. I've also mixed Nanochromis transvestitus well needless to say they went into breeding. Man you would not believe how much of a killer they can become. As long and skinny as they seem they get all over another fish like the Tasmanian devil. I'm not real crazy over westies although I have some. They just don't treat their women right.
