As for only 1 year of production, my 3 year old pair of A. panduro just had a
batch of fry last week. I've had 5 year old pairs of dwarf cichlids spawn. Not
apistos. I'd have to check but about 4 year old pairs is about as old as I ever
had that still produced fry.

Mike, John and whoever

I can't say I agree with or disagree with either of you because I haven't really been around that long.

My two cents is that some of mine have been through what I call spurts. Some I have had that spawn like crazy then they stop. A year went by and I thought well maybe I'll try a different type of dwarf. Just cause I really like seeing the spawning and caring part of the dwarfs. Then all of a sudden after a year within a two or so month period the same pair spawns 3 more times. Go figure.

And as far as seeing them go cheap....Amen to that, I've gotten more for standard angel fish at auctions then some of my best Apistos. I don't mind because it's my way of giving back to the hobby that gives so much too me. And if they want angels then I keep breeding a couple. Well, actually I don't breed them. I just don't know how to stop breeding them.<G>

Oh yeah John thanks for sending the box back...nice job...good luck(side bar)
Whelp anyhow just thought I'd ad my little bit of experience to you conversation.
