Lisa, You have an interesting fish here, but it definitely is not A. moae. A. moae has a much broader, fairly even edged lateral band. The fish pictured has a narrow, slightly zigzag lateral band that breaks downward in front of the caudal spot in the caudal peduncle. The downward break is actually a darker part of a narrow Bar 7. In eunotus-complex fish like A. moae, the vertical bars are much broader. Everything about this fish points to it being a member of the caetei-complex. The one problem with this is that the tail doesn't appear to be crossbanded like caetei-complex fish are. Sometimes the broken band is also seen on some forms of the resticulosa-complex, particularly forms of A. taeniata. I would be very interested to learn what kind of abdominal markings this fish has, and if it has any caudal fin pattern. Mike Wise "L.
