Re: On-line Apisto Species list; List archiving

For those of you with web access, the California Academy of Science has
an on-line catalog of all species of fish. Search on a genus or on both
genus and species, and you get the date it was described, a reference to
where the description was published, and references for amendments to
the taxonomy. The catalog lists 54 species of Apistogramma. You can
find it at:

<A HREF="http://www.calacademy.org/research/ichthyology/species/">http://www.calacademy.org/research/ichthyology/species/</A>

I was surprised to find that the subject of my PhD research, the coho
salmon, Oncorhynchus kisutch, has been mispelled almost from the start!
The correct name should be Oncorhynchus kisatch!! Oh well...
