Re: Breeding Rams !?!?!?!---Another thought

I've had several pairs of Rams that have bred and on every occasion, bar 1,
the eggs have been eaten by the parents, the 1 occasion they didn't eat them
I had a batch of 60 free swimming fry, 2 days later they had gone (I think
they starved to death, I was feeding BS and they need inforsuria).

Since then the only success I've had is by removing the eggs from the
parents and raising them in a small floating tank, currently got 30+
wrigglers in such a tank now, hatched yesterday, even then there were 30-40
infertile eggs and both parents are adult in size (male 6cm, female 5cm).

Even when raised by the above method, success is not guaranteed as the fry
are very small and I've found from experience that you need feed inforsuria
for the first week or so, plenty of partial water changes help, but don't
count your chickens (Rams) on great numbers surviving.

Breeding conditions, pH 6.5-7.0, Gh 2, Kh 3-4, temp 78-82f, once they start
breeding you should get a new batch of eggs every 10 days or so.
