I have 2 Female and 1 male A. Caucatoids in a 55 with some Borelli and misc. dither fish. (The same tank that several weeks ago had a "bug spray poisoning".) All appeared to be well, and the Caucatoids had spawned again about a week ago. Last night, the Male Caucatoid seemed to be very colored up, like breeding colors only brighter, and hiding in the corner. His eyes seemed to be bugging out slightly and his lips were slightly swollen as well. Around his eyes seemed to be almost a white ring, very close to the eyeball. Until now he has eaten very well, and spawned. There is even one of the females with free swimming fry in the tank. Nothing else in the tank seems to be effected. Does this sound like some residual effect of the bug poison or is there some other possible cause? Thanks for the help!
