Both cyclops and hydra have been reported to eat fry, but I know for sure that cyclops will only eat fry like new-born labrinth fry. Anything else is too large. Cyclops will also wipe out a daphnia culture given the opportunity, by consuming the freshly-hatched daphnia. I've seen Dave Soares's tanks when they hve had major hydra outreaks, but he didn't seem concerned about them. I saw a picture somewhere, I think it was one of the ancient editions of the Inness encyclopedia, of a hydra with a fish caught in its tentacles. It was magnified, and it is hard to say how small the fish was, except that it had to be pretty darn small.
