Re: genetics etc.



Actually, the notation dates back to Mendel who designated the original
parents as P and the "filial" subsequent generations as F1, F2 etc.
Actually, I don't believe Mendel did much (or even any?) work past F2, but
what he did changed the world just as much as Darwin's work.  It just
didn't seem so revolutionary at the time.
