Camellanus responds to 'levamisole'.Camellanus are the thread-like red worms you sometimes see hanging from a fish's vent. Aquarium Pharmecuticals sells it under the label Discomed. As much as I despise medicating fish I *have* successfully treated camellanus infestations in killies and african cichlids (to the point where the fish recovered and reproduced successfully) by following the directions on the box -> mix with readily eaten food like blackworms or tubifex, feed 2x a day for 2 weeks. The amusing thing is, they don't sell enough pills in one box of Discomed for 2 weeks of treatment :-( My success with this has been very well documented in the Krib when I first wrote about it in 1989 :-) It's the only 'trade' fish medication I've found that was good for anything. At least 'Melafix' makes the tanks smell nice. Matt --- steev ward <steevward@mac.com> wrote: > > It is basically the same di-n -butyl tin oxide > (maybe identical).
