Re: Snail eaters

A while back I kept three small clown loaches in with a trio of large discus
(90 gallon) and they were able to remove every last snail in that tank-- if
you keep your alkalinity and general hardness of the water low, the snails
will find it nearly impossible to reproduce and the adults will eventually
be weeded out (I like to have a few snails around to eat up uneaten food!)

Right now I have a number of apistos, characins and three discus in a 90
gallon planted tank. The snails are kept in check by co-incidentally having
low conductivity.

Cheers,
Cory
