Re: worms and food

Gary,
A while ago when I was breeding "dinner plates" oops I mean Discus (nasty
word Gary.) I made my own beef heart mix. My Discus, Uaru, Geophagus and
many of my other species (large and small) loved this. Not all Apistogramma
species ate it. In my mix I added to the ox heart flake, peas, spinach,
catfish pellets, tetra prima (bits) in fact any dried fish foods I added to
the mixture. It was cheap to make. If I remember correctly the
Apistogramma species when fry/juveniles they ate it with relish but some not
when adult. May I add when feeding this mix any uneaten food must be
removed from the tank as it can and does pollute a tank very quickly.
Like you Gary I also have an allergy to fozen b'worm. If I touch my eyes
while handling the food they become very blood shot and itchy and can last
for quite a while. I also feed all my fish frozen b'worms daily.
