Not sure who you were refering to with the digitalis referal. Digitalis, ie digoxin is a great medicine and I use it with my patients every day. There are lots of natural medicines we prescribe. The danger is that many patients are now taking natural medicines/herbs without recognizing their side effects, dangers, and benefits....ie they don't know what they are doing, or they are taking combinations or new meds that haven't been studied. That is the danger. Digoxin saves lives in the right dose, it can also kill in the wrong dose....so it goes with many medicines including the natural ones. I don't think anyone was denigrating natural medicines, just saying be cautious, don't think if one drop is good, a whole bottle is better and realize there may be side effects. Now, off this topic and back to fish!!! I have to deal with this stuff at work everyday, back to the fun stuff. :) Kathy On Mon, 19 Jun 2000 colingorton@wanadoo.es wrote: > I can't remember who mentioned it, but digitalis, although it is > _extremely poisonous_, has been used in the treatment of heart problems > for many years :).
