  I have had a male Cac. for over four years now.  He was beat up
pretty bad about three years ago, but I kept him out of pity.  Even
though his fins are all but gone, he's fathered two batches of fry (one
just over 6mos. ago), and they turned out to be almost true tripple
reds - only one double red male.  Anyway, he's still kicking and has
out lived all of his female counter parts.
