Hey John,
I  also had my Hogsloi II come out with fry (only about 20 +) first spawn,
but I had to take the male out because he wanted to take over the caring of
the fry (I had this experience before with A. Macmasteri). But the Female
wanted nothing to do with that, so she started fighting with the male
(loosing batle there!), I pulled him out before he killed her.  I put him in
a 30gl where I just happened to have an extra female.. now they are both
happy!!
