Need opinion on Book

I'm thinking of purchasing American Cichlids 1 by Linke and Staeck.  What
are some opinions on this book?  Are there others that are recommended?

I figured this topic must have been covered before, but I couldn't find the
archives by searching digital.com and another search using google didn't
produce the archives.
