High temperatures--about 85 degrees Fahrenheit.  Rams live in 
environments that are shallow and get very hot--they even seem to do 
well at 90 degrees.  I'm not sure if the day/night cycle makes any 
difference, but you might try 14 to 16 hour daylight (makes a difference 
in angelfish). The usual equation, clean water, plenty of healthy food.
