I have what were sold to me as A. trifasciata red. The diagonal abdominal stripe is always visible and there is considerable red in the dorsal of the males or at least the one male I had. I got 8 fish, 1 male, 7 females. I lost the male (naturally) but still have several of the females as well as several fry from the only spawn I had before the male died. A quick trip to the fish room revealed that, of the three females I could see, all had the diagonal stripe. I believe I can see the stripe on most of the fry (about one half inch in length). I don't believe these were wild fish, possibly out of Czechoslovakia. I'll try to remember to ask the source. They seem to meet the definition of trifasciata as far as the diagonal stripe but the blue on the upper half of body isn't as metallic blue as other trifasciata I've seen.
