Mike, I thought Kaycy's female fish looked like a rotpunkt female as well. The only thing she is missing is the black spot at the base of the pectoral fin. I thought on Kullander's (I think it was Kullander who was doing the series on IDing the female apisto's) article he divided the females into a group with the black spot at the base of the pectoral and this was a way of separating rotpunkt from other groups. Is this a variable finding? I seem to have found it on most of the rotpunk/swartzsaum etc, I have seen. This female does not have it but she sure looks like a rotpunkt.
