Re: ph, gravel, and filters



I have to second this. Despite not liking sand in the past, after reading
about people using it on this list (including Ken) I decided to try it
again and will be using it forever now. It looks great, is easy to clean
(vacuum the surface), the fish do love to sift through it, and food that
sinks to the bottom can still be eaten unlike with gravel. I also use play
sand and clean it in a bucket or 10 gallon tank before use. The only
disadvantage I've found is that it doesn't anchor plants all that well
compared to gravel.
