I downloaded your photos. The first pair of pictures are too out of focus for me
to tell the difference. The last pair is better. If I had to guess - and it is a
guess, since these fish are still small and don't show mature traits - I'd say
the left fish is a female (broken lateral band, and darker leading rays on the
ventral fins) and the other is a male. I hate to be crass, but you are beating a
dead horse here. I have two recommendations: 1. Wait for them to reach 2" (5 cm)
SL. You'll see obvious differences at this size and they'll probably breed for
you before then. 2. Shell out the money for Linke & Staeck's book. It's worth the
money.
