Tim, La Esmeralda and Esmeralda, twin frontier towns, are probably where your fish came from. It's about 250 miles from Pto. Ayacucho and terrain should be hilly. It's damn near Yanomami country - think fierce people and GOBS of undescribed fish. Fish fauna from the region is poorly understood. What ever species you have, it is not easy to acquire - breed 'em and spread 'em around. Good luck. Do you know who the collectors are?
