We thought he'd want to use some plants that are normally not available through conventional means, and thats why we offered up our cuttings - we were not trying to save a dime here and there. We've got plants here within GWAPA that only a handful of people in the US have. If he wants to use the regular stuff - that's fine with us, and we'll gladly provide them. It's good in a way, he'll aquascape with the bread and butter plants - it'll encourage people - show them you do not need have access to rare plants to scape well. BTW - did you guys read through the plant list? Almost sounds like a list of plants an 'American' scape would consist of. FYI - we tried numerous times to obtain a list of plants that Amano would like to use, equipment that he would need etc - all to no avail. Finally, through Tomoko, we were able to get a response to our queries. > > I don't know all the details but why did we "allow" Amano and Jeff > equipment > > exchange? Jay - there's a business deal between Jeff and Amano. He's bringing the equipment at his cost - it's up to him what he wants to do with it after the demo. We cannot force him to donate those items. > I'd also like to point out the dichotomy between these two "issues". No one is 'nickle and diming' about the plants. That said, I beleive, a sizable portion of the revenues from the auction were due to FANs generous donation of plants last year. The plants we're getting for Amano, hopfully through FAN, should end up in the auction and not anywhere else. _______________________________________________ AGA-mcm mailing list AGA-mcm@thekrib.com http://lists.thekrib.com/mailman/listinfo/aga-mcm
