If the vendors had had a concrete idea of the schedule earlier, they could have made different flight arrangements and wouldn't have missed peak time. There *were* enough breaks in the schedule for people to visit the room, but the vendors didn't know when they were far enough in advance. And then the talks started late and ran late. What with the weather in Atlanta and flights being delayed, I felt like I was late for four days straight! :-)
As another example, I didn't know about Ghazanfar's party until the week before. Re-arranging my flight was a hassle I could have done without.
I have made my opinion of the registration committee well known, so I'll shut up about that soon, but they made *me* look bad.
Things beyond their control that made life harder: -Field trip weather and subsequent accidents -Amano's Big Book Surprise -Auction database going down-why is this their fault? Who knew? Cheryl Karen Randall wrote:
We didn't yet; wanted to have an intermediate step of the MCM list. I do want something akin to this being discussed on the MCM list, but along the lines of improvement for next year rather than finger-pointing for this year. Right now, though, I'm more in the mood for finger-pointing, so we should probably hold off any MCM posting.Oh, I agree completely. No one has heard anything but praise from me...yet.<g> They all DID work hard. they just didn't always work in the right direction, or very efficiently.
